At Beeches Evangelical Church we collect different types of information about our users for the following main reasons:

  1. To provide a useful resource in the form of an online directory of users.
  2. To provide an interactive web site where email is used to communicate with the users.
  3. To provide a security mechanism whereby we can restrict content to certain groups of users.
  4. To help us to improve the service we offer.

Our principles

We are absolutely committed to protecting your privacy. Our policy can be summarised in one sentence: we will not share your information with others without your consent.

We have established the following two principles:

  1. We will respect your email privacy. You will only receive email from Beeches Evangelical Church in relation to areas you have expressly signed up for.
  2. We will not share any individual user details (including your email address) to any third party without your consent.

What information do we collect?

We collect information on our users through registration.

The minimum information we need to register a user is your first and last name and a password. We also ask for some further, voluntary information so we can provide a richer, more useful address book.

Who will have access to your information?

You have control over who is able to access specific items of information. By default your personal information will be visible to other authenticated users of the site. You can change these settings from your personal profile page. Your information will be used to build the online address book and show your birthday in the Beeches Evangelical Church calendar.

What else you should know about privacy

Remember to close your browser when you have finished your user session. This is to ensure that others cannot access your personal information and correspondence if you share a computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public place like a library or internet cafe. You as an individual are responsible for the security of, and access to, your own computer.

Please be aware that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information over the internet that this information can be collected and used by others. In short, if you post personal information in publicly accessible online forums, you may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return. Ultimately, you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your usernames and passwords and any account information. Please be careful and responsible whenever you are using the internet.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello 

We are a small/medium family church that welcomes all-comers who are seeking God’s help in daily living and in answering life’s big questions. The focus of the week at church is our Sunday Service, this is when the church comes together to worship in the form of prayer and song. Our services are not particularly formal, there is no dress code (when we can meet that is!) and we do our best to make visitors welcome and explain what is going on. On Sunday we will also receive teaching from the Holy Bible which has brilliant and life-giving wisdom in it.  You can expect to meet one of our church leaders and be able to ask questions and to let us know how we can help you.   Have a look at our Church Calendar to see when online or in-person services are happening as Government guidance changes.

The church usually has a range of activities which take place during the week, from a toddler group to a book club all of which provide opportunity for building friendships and being involved in the life of the church.  To see whether these groups are running online or postponed for the time being then please check our Church Groups page.

I have been Minister here at Beeches since 2002. I was born and raised a ‘Brummie’ and in fact attended the local Perry Beeches Schools as a child. I am married to Theresa and have two smashing daughters who have both now flown the nest. I like my sport, particularly 6-a-side football and badminton and enjoy a good movie or book. Most of all I like to see people coming to church and getting blessed by Jesus!   Son, Husband, Father, Granddad. Born on a farm in Devon, formative years in Kent came to Birmingham to attend University and unable to find his way south again. Found Beeches by "mistake" in 1979 and been here ever since. Doing life with the Lord and his lovely wife Jane. Financial Director of a Telford company and keen Chelsea supporter.

Brian has been a church elder since the late 80s. He is married to Ann. They have three adult children and four grandchildren. They have both been members at Beeches Evangelical Church since 1983 when they moved to Great Barr from South Wales for Brian to take up a partnership as a General Practitioner in West Bromwich.
Now retired, Brian enjoys looking after the grandchildren, cycling and walking.
  I'm a local lad, born and bred in Great Barr, now living in Sutton Coldfield. I am married to Ruth and have two children. I work as a self employed electrician which keeps me busy during the week. I am a musician and am part of the Worship team at Beeches. I also support the Villa and enjoy walking, reading and spending time with family and friends.

James Lawton (Church Elder)    
Although I was raised in Walsall, having gone to University in Birmingham, spending all of my working life in Birmingham and living in Great Barr with my wife, Sheila, I also consider myself a 'Brummie'.  I started coming to Beeches in 2006/7 and over the course of a year had decided to give my life to Jesus and follow him.  I was later baptised here, a vivid moment for me!  I currently work for Birmingham City Mission as a youth and schools worker, having previously taught science and physics at secondary schools for 10 years.
